Wandering a city is to wade through the residues of events and becomings that have marked the social and physical landscape. If wandering is the movement, what methodologies of gathering information can allow us to grasp at the mechanisms that create our spaces (if such an endeavor is even possible)? My role as a cultural worker is to complicate dominant narratives by relying on the trace, lacuna, or palimpsest as the marker of divergence, the space where an alternative can exist. Each crack is an opportunity to drive a wedge into that space and aggravate the disruption of the single façade.
