As part of the Com(m)a architecture and design studio focused on rebuilding after the Chilean earthquake of 2010, I began working with the history of Chicago with Chile and foreign aid within the framework of colonialism. Making small repairs to furniture is an attempt to make as little an intervention into the built environment of Talca as possible, while making the repairs visible with new wood acknowledges the legacy and hybridization between those receiving and giving "aid."

This culminated in the organization of a tool library, where the tools are available to the residents for permanent use.

This project was possible with the help of Carmen Cruz, and the NGOs Surmaule and Reconstruye as well as the other members of the Com(m)a Studio.
